One question that is sure to have a few people stumped in the next few weeks is what costume to wear to the Halloween party. According to the latest trends on Google insight, joke costumes are likely to be the most popular types of costumes to wear. Maybe we need some comic relief after all the economic woes that continue to plague the nation. After that, costumes inspired by the recent Hollywood Blockbuster movies are also trending upwards. Here are the latest hot Halloween costume ideas that people might be wearing at this years party.

Tiger Woods has been in the press for all the wrong reasons this year and it’s seems Saturday Night Live won’t be the only ones to parody his misadventures. The average Halloween party goer can be Tiger Woods for a night by simply wearing a pair a black slacks, a Polo shirt and a Nike cap. The shirt should be slightly torn and for maximum affect, a bent nine iron or putting wedge can be wrapped around the neck.

Another costume that is sure to get some laughs is to go as the beleaguered BP Chief executive Tony Hayward. His lack of response and control of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill was universally criticized resulting in his summoning to congress to explain himself.

A beleaguered BP man costume might be a pair of business slacks and a business shirt and tie. A few oil smudges all over the shirt and a bust monkey wrench as a prop would be the finishing touch for this costume.

For movie costumes there are two stand out movies – “Clash of the Titans” and “Prince of Persia : Sands of Time”. Both movies are action adventure type movies that take the audience to exotic lands filled with marvelous and terrifying creatures in equal measure.

Costumes that are likely to be popular from the “Clash of the Titans” movie will be ancient Greek costumes. This includes the famous Gods from Greek Mythology, notably Zeus, Aphrodite, Athena , Hades and Poseidon. The heroes and villains can be included too. So Perseus, Calibos and Medusa are sure to be popular costumes that are highly original for a Halloween party.

As far as “Prince of Persia : Sands of Time” is concerned, the principal characters will be popular costume choices. Think of Dastan as the male hero or Princess Tamina as the female lead.
